This agreement

These Terms of Use are a legal agreement between you and Bokamoso ("we", "us"), the provider of the Bokamoso app. By tapping "I agree", creating an account, or using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

This agreement is between you and Bokamoso only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. We — not Apple — are solely responsible for the app and for any support, claims or issues relating to it, except as set out in the "Apple" section below.

If you are under 18, you may only use Bokamoso with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

Licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Bokamoso for your own, non-commercial purposes — to explore qualifications, bursaries and career guidance.

On Apple devices, this licence is limited to the Apple-branded devices that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including Family Sharing where applicable). You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app except where the law permits.

Guidance, not a guarantee

Bokamoso helps you estimate how your marks match university qualifications, bursaries and careers. Admission requirements, points calculations (APS/FPS and others), closing dates, fees and funding rules are set by each institution and can change at any time.

Our matches are a guide to help you plan — they are not an offer of admission, a promise of funding, or official advice. Always confirm the current requirements and deadlines directly with the relevant institution or bursary before you rely on them or make any decision.

Lesedi is an AI assistant. Its responses are generated automatically, may be incomplete or wrong, and are not professional career, financial, legal or psychological advice.

Purchases and Lesedi credits

Your first Lesedi conversation and your report are free. After that you can buy a session pack — currently 3 more chats for R40 — as a one-time, consumable in-app purchase.

All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account and are billed to that account. Prices are shown before you confirm. Credits are tied to your account, have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and unused credits may expire if your account is closed.

Because purchases are handled by Apple, refunds are managed by Apple under the App Store terms. We cannot directly refund an App Store purchase, but contact us and we will help where we can.

Acceptable use

Use Bokamoso lawfully and respectfully. Do not enter false information to mislead, attempt to break or overload the service, misuse Lesedi to generate harmful, abusive or unlawful content, or use the app to harm others.

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or use the app in a way that harms other learners or the service.

Your account and data

You can explore qualifications and calculate your marks without an account. Lesedi requires an account: you must sign in before using it, then confirm your age (and, if under 18, provide guardian consent). Your first Lesedi conversation is free; further conversations are a paid in-app purchase. Keep access to your sign-in email secure — anyone with it can reach your account.

We store your sign-in email, your academic profile and marks, your Lesedi result, and — for under-18s — the guardian-consent record (name, email and date). We do NOT store recordings or transcripts of your Lesedi conversations, your card or banking details, or any advertising/tracking identifiers. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Intellectual property

Bokamoso, its name, design, software and original content belong to us or our licensors. Qualification, institution and bursary information remains the property of the respective institutions and is used to help you find it.

You may use your own report and results freely for your personal planning. You may not copy or reuse the app's content for commercial purposes without our permission.

Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we do not warrant that the information is complete, current or error-free, or that the app will be uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from decisions you make based on the app — including missed deadlines, rejected applications or funding outcomes. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that cannot be excluded.

We — not Apple — are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services.

Apple

The following applies where you obtained the app from the Apple App Store. Apple has no warranty obligation for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory or consumer-protection claims, and any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual-property rights.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any US Government prohibited-parties list.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Changes, governing law and contact

We may update these terms as the app evolves; we will tell you in the app before material changes take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
